A project that aims to promote plogging actions (walks with the collection of recyclable waste) in the municipality of Santa Maria da Feira and beyond, as demonstrated by the PLOGGING CHALLENGE PORTUGAL initiative which, in the past 4 editions, has involved more than 15,000 people in all the districts and autonomous regions of Madeira and the Azores.
Call to action
The Plogging Santa Maria da Feira project was created in July 2021 and aims to encourage people to walk more and to do so with a new purpose! While we walk, we can also take care of our Common Home, leaving it cleaner of waste and, above all, collecting those that are in a position to gain a new life through recycling (glass and plastic). The group organizes plogging events throughout the year, both at local level (Santa Maria da Feira and neighbouring municipalities) and at national level, through the PLogging Challenge Portugal (everyone is invited to be a local organizer).
