Senda de los Almendros, Castronuño

It is located in the Natural Reserve “Riveras de Castronuño-Vega del Duero”, one of the youngest natural areas of Castilla y León. In the process of declaration as a protected area, the communities of arteidas, as species of large birds, stand out. In Castronuño, most of the fauna found are birds, specifically, almost 60 are strictly aquatic and, of these, 41 are endangered or threatened. It is also possible to enjoy others as unique as the marsh harrier, the grey heron, the bittern, the little egret, the osprey or cormorants. Before reaching the shore, it passes by the first almond trees of the walk. Once down, the path suddenly plunges into a dense fores tunnel that gives an idea of the variety and richness of the vegetacion that is crowded in a few meters of bank (brambles, willows, fig trees, elms, poplars, alders…).
